Democratic vs. Authoritarian attitude for Children

Almost every parent wants their children to behave obediently, discipline and responsibility. But often they have to mess around with the attitude that children are not in line with expectations.

Some studies reveal that parents who are democratic ways to teach a better attitude in the context of the formation of self-esteem when compared with other attitudes.

Then there are parents who ask whether this democratic attitude should be applied to start young children? Next, how to implement it?
On several occasions, many parents protested and claimed that they know what is best for their children. Among these parents like to think (and worry), if a child is always asked of their willingness and consent would be a big head and did not obey.

If we are only debating which is the best attitude, we certainly will not find a solution. So I assert that in shaping the attitudes and self-esteem of children, the authoritarian attitude of parents turned out to be better implemented at an early age children.

But when children have been able to think for themselves, parents need to replace the authoritarian attitude of the democratic attitude, so that children can make decisions based on the assessment itself. And this is generally applicable to children aged around seven years.

This democratic attitude gives parents the opportunity to exercise control over the opportunity given to children to participate in everyday activities, and to think in reality and provide a sense of meaning for their existence.

But on the contrary, if the child is still an early age, parents should run an authoritarian attitude towards the doctrine or affirmation of norms that must be obeyed. Important to be submitted to the child, that the violation of the rules has consequences for those sanctions.
In this context also, the cultivation of good morals should already firmly implanted as early as possible. This is based on that thinking skills are still limited to early childhood. To that children are expected to comply in accordance with parents' commands.

But with age, the child will begin to think and judge or to question many things about the rules they must obey. This is when parents begin to give the sense so that the children obey the rules and behave both consciously and began to provide understanding.

The most important thing a parent note is that, whatever the attitude of teaching the value they provide to the children, it should be realized that the headline and the first education come from families.

Parents are the basis of value for children. If child support and conditioned environment with good, God willing, will awaken moral child.
